Last week was the peak of the Persieds meteor shower. I drove out in the country and found a dark place to take some pictures. I say dark, but compared to when I was a kid, it wasn't so dark. I remember the darkness of the night 35ish years ago and how bright the Milky Way itself was. Light pollution is a real problem everywhere. I digress... I should have used the Nikkor 14-24, but I left it at home. I used my D610 with the 24-85 3.5 instead. I also used my D90 with the 18-105 3.5. I shot wide open for with ISO at 3200 and 8 to 10 seconds depending on where in the sky I was pointed. I haven't done a meteor shower in over a year. It seems it's always cloudy when it's time for a show. I could have done better, but I still got a few and had a good time. Enjoy.
